Linking carers to vocational opportunity
The Community Houses Association of the Outer-eastern Suburbs Network is lead agent in a consortium to deliver the Carers Employment Support Program to 80 unpaid carers in the Outer East of Melbourne in 2023. Carers registered in 2022 will continue to be supported. The Network consists of 30 Community and Neighbourhood Houses, many of which are also Learn Local Organisations.

Supporting carers to explore their employment, training and volunteering options.
P R O J E C T A I M S
Provide
Provide customised support to 108 carers based on their individual needs and aspirations from initial contact to engagement in employment and through their introductory period of employment.
Link
Link those carers embarking on training or employment pathways into existing resources and supports to achieve their goals.
Strengthen
Strengthen system linkages between carer support agencies, employment service providers, community organisations and training providers to ensure that all partners understand each-others capacity and, in doing so, better meet the needs of carers seeking pathways to employment.
Enable
Enable carers to enter a cycle of support regardless of which agency they initially approach for support.
